Public Services Bureau

Mission Statement
The Public Services Bureau is dedicated to the professional, courteous and efficient processing of all prisoners into and out of the Harris County Jail.  We are committed to the accurate maintenance of inmate records, the secure transport and supervision of HCSO prisoners, and the safe operation of the Harris County courts system.  Through continuous evaluation and planning, the Bureau strives to  ensure operational efficiency throughout the jail system, both today and in the future.

The Public Services Bureau is comprised of four Divisions:  Inmate Processing (including four Satellite Jails), Inmate Records (including Transportation and Hospital Security), Courts (including the Emergency Response Team) and Special Projects.  There are approximately 600 personnel assigned to the Public Services Bureau, all of whom are dedicated and working together to help provide our community with a safe and effective Criminal Justice System.
