The Booking process utilizes a computer system to capture personal and case information on each prisoner, including the Harris County Justice Information Management System (JIMS).  The Booking System is one of the most heavily used systems in JIMS.  There are many programs in JIMS that are used to book defendants, book subsequent cases, count the number of inmates in jail, and identify the assigned location of each inmate in the Harris County Jail.
