Inmate Records Division

The Inmate Records Division is a specialized and very important operation within the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The primary function of the Inmate Records Division is to process bonds, communicate with the courts, calculate inmate release dates and maintain incarceration records.  The District Clerk’s Office, the Courts, and a host of law enforcement agencies in and around Harris County rely heavily on the daily operations of the Inmate Records Division.

In addition, the Inmate Records Division consists of personnel assigned to the Transportation / Hospital Security Section.  These personnel are responsible for transporting inmates outside the secure detention facilities and guarding prisoners at the local hospitals.  While guarding these prisoners, they are tasked with the care, custody and control of these inmates and ensure the safety of the general public.
