Persons sentenced to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) in Harris County are processed through the Harris County Sheriff’s Office “TDCJ” Section. This section’s mission is to ensure a smooth transfer from the Sheriff’s Office to the TDCJ (TDCJ State Jail, Boot Camp, SAFPF, ISF, etc.). Sentenced Inmates are transferred upon notification by the TDCJ.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office “TDCJ” Section also tracks persons in custody of the Harris County Sheriff's Office for parole violations. Tracking the parole violators and working with the Texas Department of Parole helps to ensure smooth and quick hearings or releases for violators.
