In September 2005, the HCSO created the New Jail Planning Division to facilitate the completion of all major capital improvement projects within the Detention Command, to include the new Central Processing Center (CPC) and Atascocita Jail facilities. The New Jail Planning Division also coordinates the HCSO effort to select, acquire and implement a new Jail Management System (computer software) to improve operational efficiency throughout the Harris County Jail.
