| Burglary, Theft & Financial Crimes Unit
The Harris County Sheriff's Office Burglary, Theft and Financial Crimes Unit is dedicated to providing professional investigations of property and financial crimes committed against the citizens of Harris County. All Burglary, Theft and Financial Crimes Unit investigations will be conducted in a timely fashion with an emphasis on professionalism and thoroughness. The goal of this unit is to successfully resolve all crimes reported to the Harris County Sheriff's Office and bring to justice those individuals responsible for committing those crimes and recover stolen property associated with the investigation.

Pawnshop
Identity Theft
Social Security Fraud
Houston Area Fraud Task Force
- These details target specific crimes and are responsible for follow up investigations on crimes that fall within established parameters. Assignment to one of these specialized details allows personnel to develop a higher level of investigatory expertise. Many of the investigators assigned to these areas are liaisons and work directly with local, state and federal agencies to significantly impact crime rates in Harris County.
- The personnel assigned to the Burglary, Theft and Financial Crimes Unit are committed to creating a safe environment for the citizens of Harris County through service, integrity, professionalism and fairness. The Burglary, Theft and Financial Crimes Unit is under the command of one lieutenant and two sergeants.
- The supervisory staff maintains a high level of professionalism and is committed to the effective and orderly operation of the unit 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
- On average the Burglary, Theft and Financial Crimes Unit receives approximately 2,500 cases each month that requires some form of follow up investigation before the case can be closed. These cases stem from, but are not limited to, business burglaries, criminal mischief, theft and found/lost property. It is the responsibility of this unit to cooperate fully with other divisions and units of the Department and other agencies.
