Many identity thefts begin with stolen mail due to the wealth of personal information contained in bank statements, credit card statements, tax information, etc. Identity thieves also submit change of address forms to have your mail diverted to another address. If this has happened to you, it should be reported to the Postal Inspectors. You may contact the Postal Service website at:
