Adult Sexual Assault
The Harris County Sheriff's Office Sex Crime Detail is committed to the pursuit of excellence. A thorough and timely investigation of sex crimes reported to the Harris County Sheriff's Office will be conducted. At all times investigations will conform to the laws and constitution of the State of Texas and the United States.
The Sex Crimes Detail is an investigative Detail within the Interpersonal Violence Unit of the Harris County Sheriff's Office. This detail investigates adult sexual assault cases where the victim is 17 or older, and also cases in which the victim is 15 - 16 years of age and the suspect is not a family member.
The Sex Crimes Detail is responsible for investigating the following types of offenses:
- Sexual Assault/Aggravated Sexual Assault
- Attempted Sexual Assault
- Indecent Exposure
- Public Lewdness
- Burglary with Intent to Commit Sexual Assault
Cases referred to the Sex Crimes Detail are assigned to a Investigator who will contact the complainant to schedule any appointments or interviews necessary to conduct the criminal investigation. Contact information for the Sex Crimes Detail is as follows:
