Investigative Support Division

The Investigative Support Division is a component of the Field Operations Support Bureau. This Division is responsible for the command of five distinct units charged primarily with providing support services to the Patrol and Detective Bureau Operations.

The Division's, Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) Operations Center, Alarm Detail, Crime Scene Unit - CSU Operations, Evidence/Property Room - EPR Operations, and the Sheriff's Regional Firearms Identification Laboratory, are all considered support services because each provides secondary investigative services pertinent to the successful investigation and/or prosecution of criminal activities reported to the Sheriff's Office.

It is the mission of the Investigative Support Division to provide the Sheriff's Office, other agencies and the citizens of Harris County, with the most efficient and effective services available.
