Community Services Division

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is unequivocally committed to the concept of community. The division’s mission is to translate this concept into reality through the willful demonstration and embodiment of those qualities of courtesy, efficiency, courage, perseverance and exemplary professionalism which the publics expects from those who have been empowered to protect and serve them. As all major metropolitan areas experience continued growth, it has become a challenge for law enforcement agencies to fulfill their commitments. Improving the quality of life for the citizens of Harris County, Texas is a primary goal of this division. The programs that make up the Community Services Division address these needs and the commitments we have made as we continually and faithfully perform our duties with dedication and pride. This Community Services Division consists of the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program, Community Storefronts/Community Oriented Policing, Crime Prevention/D.A.R.E., the Motorist Assistance Program and the Parks Unit.
